Artifacts. In the woods. A sign.
A sign of the past and the present. A sign of people. A sign of nature.
The people story may have ended 72 years ago in this space . . .
but the nature story continues with many interesting twists and turns along the way.
The people may have tried to defy nature . . .
but nature has a way, whether we like what emerges from it or not.
And figuring out the procession of the nature story, as much as some of it may not please us, is still intriguing.
People and nature.
People versus nature.
Who wins? In the end, nature reclaims her own as the lichens demonstrate on this quarried granite.
Leigh, The photo of the wheel and the dead log reflecting in the water is really lovely – and somehow, poignant.

Thanks Linda. I’d thought of ending with that photo and naming the blog: People and Nature: a reflection. In hindsight, that’s probably what I should have done.

I think this is one of my favorites. So clearly shows the willing transition back to nature. Unfortunately though, it doesn’t take much from a human to triumph over nature. I love the photos.

Thanks JinMe. I kinda wish I’d arranged it a wee bit differently and changed the wording up a bit, but like any of these posts, they are only first drafts.
