Thank you, dear readers, for taking the time to open these posts, read or scroll through them, like and comment, and go off on your own wanders to see what you might see, always with a sense of wonder, because despite all the strife and discontent in the world, we live in an incredible place.

      1. Ah, but you ARE adventurous! You explore your environment with scientific detail! You make all of us feel like we are hiking there with you! So we walk a little farther from home sometimes, but our spirit is no different than yours! We are so grateful for our ability to travel, to explore the wonderful Earth God has given us! Bravo to all of us who appreciate our land, and who want to conserve and enjoy it!

  6. This reminded me that I have been wanting to comment to thank YOU – I’ve been reading your posts for about a year, having moved back to Maine after 20 years away, now with much more interest and engagement with the natural world than I had in my earlier years. I also live fairly close to where you seem to be, judging by how many spots you mention are within a short drive from me. It’s been so helpful to learn in real time about what’s going on with the plants and animals and insects, to be encouraged to look closer, to see things I had never noticed. It’s often happened that just after you post about something, I’ll see it for the first time in the wild, no doubt because my eyes have been primed. What a wonderful resource this has been, and an inspiration!

    1. Thanks so much for commenting. I’ve always found it a sense of wonder that once I spot something for the first time in the wild, I begin to see it frequently–how had I missed it all these years? And I don’t know if it’s the same for you, but that’s what keeps me going because there’s always so much more to learn and try to understand. Thankfully, with snow now on the ground, there will still be lessons. We only need to watch and wait. Or is it wait and watch?
