Wondermyway wanders

Kinda excited to have a post from wondermyway.com published in the spring issue of Maine Natural History Observatory’s Observer Field Journal. Thank you to Celeste Mittelhauser for making it happen again.

    1. Ah Madelyn and Charlie, Thank you, I retired from GLLT at the end of October, but am here in town and always ready to spend time with you. Let’s be in touch when you return to Maine.

      1. Thank you so much. We are set for Iceland again in July, Mexico again diving and on land in November, Antarctica in February 2025 and Tanzania Africa in September 2025 so far. The last 2 defiantly bucket list destinations. We are trying to get in the farther, more strenuous trips now, as we aren’t getting any younger. Hoping to explore our great USA as we age, with my bugging Bill to return to the East coast for sure. I just can’t shake Maine from my thoughts and memories. What a lovely place you live in! We are setting off to see the eclipse here in Southern Illinois or Indiana this weekend, hoping we are not disappointed with cloud cover. Are you anywhere near totality? We are planning to stay mobile and will be down there in plenty of time to adjust our destination for the areas of totality with the weather changes.

      2. I’ll carry your baggage! Wow–That’s quite a list for one year.
We’re at 98% totality here. Not going to venture to the totality area as it’s mud season and those roads are going to be packed and a mess, especially after two major snowstorms in the past week and a half. Looking like sunshine for that day here. But the forecast changes by the hour, or so it seems. 😉 Safe travels.

      3. Yes, I have been following your weather reports and have worried about all of you there in ME these last weeks. What a mess you must have. Don’t blame you a bit for not venturing out among the crowds and the mud! Last eclipse, our astronomer friend set his wife and myself up on the NASA computer website and we watched the event go across the USA with all of the commentary and education. It was great fun. Her husband flew his plane down to Carbondale IL to view it there and had a blast. My husband skydived during the eclipse and loved that. Many ways to enjoy this awesome event.
