One Minute of Vernal Pool Fame

Since November, newly minted Maine Master Naturalist Dawn Wood and I have co-led a program we call Wednesday Wanders for Loon Echo Land Trust in Bridgton, Maine. This past week, channel 8 WMTW reporter Jacob Murphy and his videographer Ethan joined us for a tramp into a vernal pool at LELT’s Tiger Hill Community Forest in Sebago.

Here’s the clip: Hometown Maine: Sebago

Take a listen as Aurora, Marie, and Henry comment on the experience. It’s this and soooo much more.

  1. I love this! Way to represent vernal pools and springtime exploration; they are magical spaces. I also love the look of that guide you are using with all the colored tabs…what is the name of it??

    1. Thanks. It was fun to have everyone participate in the vernal pool orchestra at the end. The colored tabs were manually attached. The book is A Field Guide to the animals of Vernal Pools by Leo P. Kenney and Matthew R. Burne.
